- For Bati-
- 2 cups Wheat flour
- 2 tbsp Besan
- 1/4 tsp Salt
- 1/4 tsp Baking powder
- 1/4 cup Ghee
- as required kneading water
- For Churma-
- 2 Baaties
- 2 tbsp Ghee
- 3 tbsp Powdered sugar
- 2 tbsp Chopped cashewnuts almonds and pistachios
- 1/4 tsp Cardamom powder
- For Tadka Dal-
- 1/2 Cup Urad Dal
- 1/2 Cup Chana Dal
- 2 Tbsp Oil
- 1 Onion chopped
- 1 Tsp Ginger-Garlic paste
- 1 Green chilli chopped
- 1 Tomato chopped
- 1/4 Tsp Salt
- 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
- 2 n1/2 Cup Water
- 1 Tsp Coriander powder
- 1/2 Tsp Cumin powder
- 1/2 Tsp Garam masala
- 1/2 Tsp Kasoori Methi
- For Tadka:
- 3 tbsp Ghee
- 1 tsp Cumin seeds
- Pinch asafoetida
- 1/2 tsp Red chilli powder
- 2 tbsp Green coriander leaves chopped
Instructions to make to make Dal Bati Churma
- For Bati-
- Firstly in a large bowl take wheat flour besan salt baking powder and ghee.
- Mix well making sure the dough is moist.
- Now add water as required and knead the dough. Make sure the dough is firm and let it sit for 5 minutes.
- Meanwhile grease a baking tray with a little oil.
- Pinch a small ball sized dough and roll it.
- Place the rolled bati in a baking tray.
- Preheat oven at 230°c. Place the baking tray in the preheated oven and bake for 15 minutes at 230°c. After 15 minutes carefully flip the batis and bake again for about 15 minutes.
- Dip the batis in ghee for more soft it from inside. Finally bati is ready.
- For Churma-
- Make coarse powder of batis.
- Add all the ingredients of churma and mix well.
- Finally Churma is ready.
- #For dal-
- In a bowl soak urad dal & Chana dal for 2 hours.
- Firstly in a pressure cooker take oil and add onions and saute for 2-3 minutes.
- Add ginger garlic and green chilli and saute well.
- Add tomato, both the dals, salt and turmeric powder.
- Pressure cook for 2-3 whistles.
- When pressure cooker is cool down then open it.
- Add coriander powder cumin powder garam masala powder and kasuri methi and mix well.
- For Tadka-
- Now in a tadka pan add ghee and cumin seeds. When cumin splutter add asafoetida and red chilli powder and mix well.
- Add tadka in cooked dal and cook for more 5 minutes on low flame.
- Add coriander leaves.
- Finally Tadka Dal is ready to serve.
